My car went back to the workshop for the change of engine mountings on Monday. They ordered the parts. It arrived on Sunday, they called me and I sent my car in. Then they tell me one of the mounts does not fit as it was the wrong part. They can't put the old one back as it was really 'buggered' so I have no choice but to wait till the part arrives which will take about two days. But I need the car or I can't work... so... the only option was to hire a car.
Got myself a VIOS... nice car... anyway... when I got in the car I did my usual... adjust the seat, adjusted the steering height... adjust mirrors... check indicators and then looked at the dashboard... no gauge... I know someone who reads my blog who knows someone who drives a Vios... you know who you are... do me a favour... ask the owner of that black Vios... where the fuck is the temperature gauge? I couldn't find it! Please don't tell me that Toyotas do not heat up... not after the fiasco they're going through. Ok... nevermind... the gauge is not THAT important... looked at the gears... hmmm... L, 2, 3-D, N, R, P. Ok... I think I got it and I drive off... with the gear at 3-D...
Not bad... good pick up... like it so far... but I quickly realise that at 3-D the revs remained at over 3k RPMs... hmmm that's strange... something wrong... took a look at the transmission again... took a chance and shifted the lever left to D... alamak... IDIOT... so stupid of me... 3 and D are on the same level... just 3 on the right and D on left... there's no OD (overdrive) though... ok... got this figured... I like it... better than the OD button though it has the same effect... but definitely much better feel... maybe because I have always preferred manual over auto. By the way... I finally found the temperature gauge but I ain't telling yet... let's see if the owner knows where it is.
Got my car back today... There goes RM460... and RM80 per day for the Vios... aiyoh... sakit lah my pocket. I really need to do something about my car... so I washed my car... I washed... NOT I sent for wash... yes, with broken finger... have to... no choice... while washing the car talking to the car... macam orang gila kan? Better be like orang gila than spend more money on repairs.I hope with the personal wash she will stop her tantrum. And for the record... I have no intentions to sell this car.
